The Nativity Early Learning Center (NELC) has been operating for over 32 years, providing services for children aged 33 months to 12 years. It offers a Full Day Preschool program and an Afterschool program for students in grades K-5 who attend Nativity School. The center operates with long-term, knowledgeable staff and maintains convenient hours, open from 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
The NELC's Preschool programs are designed to enhance educational and social development, with a curriculum that evolves to meet children's needs. Additionally, the center offers a summer camp featuring field trips and special activities.
The NELC maintains low teacher-to-child ratios, allowing more personalized attention and a conducive learning environment. The center complies with health and safety standards and is licensed by the Minnesota Department of Human Services.
Staff at the NELC are experienced in Early Childhood Education and follow developmentally appropriate practices. All teachers are Rule #3 certified, participate in annual Professional Development training, and are certified in CPR and First Aid. They also receive training on Abusive Head Trauma prevention.
